It’s right around this time of year that I begin to look back over all that my students have accomplished – the books they’ve read, pieces they’ve written and goals they’ve met – and it all feels like it’s coming together. Ironically, this is also the time of year when it seems I can’t help but look ahead. Spring to-do lists pop-up, summer plans begin to take shape, and inevitably, I tend to think about what I hope for throughout the next school year already.
While many of you may find yourself enjoying a much-needed and well-deserved break from the bustle of school, others have already enjoyed their hiatus and are in the home stretch. For this week’s Day in a Sentence, share what reflections creep into your thoughts around this time of year.
And what kind of middle school teacher would I be, if I didn’t at least acknowledge the hilarity that is April Fool’s Day! For those of you up to the challenge, feel free to share your reflections in any sort of joke form you wish! Be sure to swing by next week to enjoy the spring break edition of Day in a Sentence!
